Waveforms and loops
Locate events with waveforms and zoom. Delimit a loop to repeat the passage and use offsets to align versions with different initial silences.

TRB Audio · Windows
A professional audio player for critical listening and mix comparison.
Listen to WAV, FLAC, MP3 and AIFF on Windows. Compare up to four versions and reference tracks at the same playback position, with matched levels and audio analysis tools.
Complete tour · 5 minutes · English narration
Standard and Pro
Load MASTER 1, MASTER 2, PRE-MASTER and REFERENCE. When you move from A to B, C or D, the player maintains the listening point: you can evaluate the same attack, the same phrase or the same section of the song.
Locate events with waveforms and zoom. Delimit a loop to repeat the passage and use offsets to align versions with different initial silences.
Hide names and statistics during comparison. You can focus on listening differences without being guided by reference information.
Illustrative images of the tools. The available version is 1.0.7.
Use LUFS-I level matching to compare tracks with less influence from perceived loudness differences. Gain is calculated over the common section of the references after applying offsets and stays constant during playback.
Equalizes the level of references based on their maximum True Peak. Tracks above the lowest value are attenuated, so you can compare them to the same peak criterion.
Standard and Pro
Profiles open in “All tonal profiles”: each track displays its own profile without subtracting a reference.
“Original level” is the default view; RMS normalization remains available. The optional “Difference (reference = zero)” view makes the reference track’s role explicit.
RMS normalization concerns the tonal profile. Reduces the effect of a gain difference and does not normalize all measurements or listening.
Pro · Version 1.0.5
Organize up to four panels and open dedicated views when you need more space. In version 1.0.5 you can change reference directly from the Lab and return from the comparison to the analysis of the single song.
Frequency energy distribution, with FFT, smoothing and display settings.
The FFT, smoothing and display settings allow you to adapt the spectrum reading. In the offline comparison, the average energy spectrum of the analyzed section is shown; in the A/B/C/D comparison the reference spectra are placed side by side. The overlap instead concerns tonal profiles.
Relationship between frequency and stereo distribution.
Relates frequency content to stereo distribution. Combine it with the spectrum and mono verification to read the tonal balance and channel behavior together; it does not replace the listening comparison.
Evolution of spectral content over time.
Show how the spectral content evolves over time. In the analysis of a selection it describes the chosen trait: it is a temporal reading, distinct from the average spectrum which summarizes the energy of the interval.
Channel levels in a dedicated view.
It brings together the channel levels in a dedicated panel, useful when you need a separate reading from the meters in the main window. The monitor level remains a listening control and does not change the source measurements.
Level trend with the visual response of the two VUs.
Displays the level trend across two VUs. In Live you can follow its movement; in the offline analysis of the interval you see a final frame. It should not be interpreted as an integrated loudness measurement or as an average of the two quadrants.
Loudness measurements and comparison with available targets.
Place the loudness readings next to the chosen target. When comparing a selection, LUFS-I, LRA and True Peak are recalculated on the selected stretch. The target is used for comparing measurements and does not activate automatic processing of the audio.
Relationship between channels and stereo distribution.
Shows the relationship between channels and the stereo distribution of the signal. The Live view allows you to follow its evolution; Offline analysis shows a final frame, not an average representation of the entire song's stereo geometry.
Temporal shape of the two PCM channels.
Represents the temporal shape of the two PCM channels. Use Live to observe its progress while listening. In the offline result the final frame describes an instant of the interval, not all the shapes taken by the signal in the segment.
Evolution of loudness readings.
Reports the evolution of loudness readings over time. It allows you to relate the variations to the sections of the piece; in the analysis of a selection the history concerns the trait analyzed.
Statistics and indications on the digital content of the signal.
Collects statistics and indications on the digital content of the analyzed PCM signal. It is an analysis view of the decoded material; it is not presented as certification of the origin or quality of the file.
Summary of loaded references.
Summarizes the references loaded in A, B, C and D. Keeps the context of the comparison visible as you work in the lab, along with dedicated views of spectrum, loudness, levels and stereo.
Pro · Live, song and selection
Analyze the same selected range, such as a chorus, to compare the measurements of the references in that section.
LUFS-I, LRA and True Peak are recalculated for the interval.
Live follows playback. Offline analysis describes the chosen song or section; VU, vectorscope and oscilloscope show a final frame. To observe its movement use Live.
Pro · Comparative report
Print or save the interval comparison as a PDF to document differences between references.
Pro · A/B/C/D comparison
Combine the same tool to compare spectrum, loudness and stereo distribution. The new spatial layout adapts the number of columns to the references present and preserves the vertical development of the spectrograms.
Load audio and Remove all: clear the references without deleting the original files.
Check in mono, reverse right channel polarity, attenuate with DIM or mute with MUTE. These controls act on monitoring and leave files intact.
Keep references, settings and observations to resume work. The player's main report is distinct from the Lab's comparative report.
WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF and other formats supported by the player. Stereo PCM path with WASAPI output; Compatibility depends on codec and container.

File measurements describe the analyzed audio; Live readings follow playback. Monitor volume adjusts your listening level without changing source measurements.
Read the levels of the channels and the center and side components. Δ M−S expresses the difference between Mid and Side. Correlation and stereo imaging help evaluate the relationship between channels along with mono verification.
For audio engineers, producers and recording studios: compare your mix with a reference track, evaluate two master revisions or listen to a passage in a loop. A shared playback position and LUFS-I level matching help you assess differences without relying on volume alone.
Combine listening with loudness and True Peak measurements, tonal profiles and stereo tools. With Pro, explore spectra and spectrograms in the Analysis Lab and save the comparison report as a PDF.
Standalone software for Windows x64
Requirements and compatibilityStandard includes the entire main window, including metering, Mid/Side and Mix Check. Pro adds the eleven Analysis Lab tools, A/B/C/D comparison in Live, whole song or selection mode, and the PDF comparison report. The audio quality of the comparison is the same.
The Pro trial lasts seven consecutive days, only once per device and product, without automatic switching to payment. Download the installer from the Download page.
The license includes two devices active at the same time. You can manage them from the My Licenses portal; for assistance write to licenses@trbaudio.com.
Used to start the test, activate and renew the validation. The signed business grant allows up to 30 days offline. The expiration of this validation is not the expiration of the perpetual license.
Mastering Player is a standalone Windows x64 application: you can use it without opening a DAW. It plays, compares and analyses audio files; it does not perform automatic mastering or modify your original files.
Yes. The player supports WAV, FLAC, MP3 and AIFF, with compatibility depending on the codec and container. Load up to four references, align them and compare the same passage. See the system requirements for audio-path details.
